MSP-COVERED LACTATION SERVICES
Paula Schikkerling is a Registered Midwife and IBCLC (Lactation Consultant) who specializes in breast/chestfeeding challenges including nipple pain, tongue tie assessments, babies slow-to-gain, low milk supply, oversupply, management of blocked ducts/mastitis, pumping, appropriate use of nipple shields (including weaning off) and SNS/syringe/bottle feeding.
Paula also offers prenatal lactation consultations to help first-time parents to prepare and for experienced parents who had a challenging time breast/chestfeeding or pumping with a previous baby.
Consults are offered in person and via telehealth. They are covered by MSP up to 6 weeks postpartum with a referral from a midwife, doctor or nurse.
